Nathan proceeded to tell me a bit of how his life had changed dramatically with a focus on his health. Lunch turned into a detailed account of Nate’s Journey to Optimum Health. First of all, Nate’s passion on this subject got me hooked to learn more. His passion and ideas really hit me because I was a Boston Marathoner a few years back and then had a major run of bad luck stemming from a birth defect that had finally taken hold of me and I had both of my hips replaced, a left knee replaced and a 3/4′ lift attached to my right sneaker to help keep my hips level. I had gone from a pretty healthy Male of 53, to a very non-mobile, painful , depressive lifestyle at 57 years old.
By seeing Nate’s passion and energy, I knew his path would have some positive effects on my lifestyle. I will have to admit , I’m not ready for all of Nate’s theories but I figured if I started out slow , I would have nothing to lose.
His first suggestion that hit with me was to take more Collagen. I immediately went to the web, with Nate’s suggestion and ordered some Pure Hydrolyzed Collagen Peptide. I have now finished two big containers of this and a lot of my pains have gone away, specifically a 10 year old pain in my right shoulder. The pain is gone along with some increased flexibility in that right shoulder. I’ve also noticed other membrane issues such as my head doesn’t feel like it’s going to explode when I sneeze. This, by itself has changed my life big time.
Second, I bought a specific light that Nate said would help heal some of tissue in my replaced knee. I have now done this for about two months and I’m now able to do some lunges with that knee that I haven’t been able to do for the last year. I’m now started to shine that light on my left hip , also replaced about 6 months ago. I’ve already noticed some relief of pain and some increased flexibility. With some more time with this , I expect my hip to be back to 100% shortly.
I have also increased my intake of healthy fat. I have bought the Wild Alaskan Salmon burgers from Costco and eat them 3 times a week and I’ve also had a tablespoon of Coconut oil on a daily basis. I don’t feel the immediate effects of this but it’s much better than I had been eating and I do find better, more consistent bowel movements.
I have also bought some Blublocker sunglasses to wear in the house after it gets dark and I have the lights on in the house. I have tried to use them at night in bed before falling asleep but I haven’t been as consistent with this as I would like to be. But if I know I need a good night sleep, the glasses are on and I have the app, “Twilight” on my phone that takes out the blue light out of the display. This does help me get sleepier faster when I’m using my phone late at night.
I’m not ready to jump into a cold river or lake. I have tried to get outside a tad more. I will need my body to get more recovered from my surgeries to make this more of a part of my life, but for the small, easy changes I’ve made in my life, I’m a much happier, healthier person. So my health isn’t at it’s optimum yet, but with the help of Mr. Nathan Waltz my journey has begun.
